Title: Champagne Shoes
Post by: Wordweaver on October 28, 2017, 02:26 AM

Champagne Shoes

A parade of many chat rooms
that glisten in the night
a place for every lonely heart
when life don't turn out right.

It's a little slice of heaven
until the time to pay your dues
that leaves you with a broken heart
and worn out champagne shoes.

Shoes that sparkled oh so bright
in your prime when you were dear,
shoes that lured your greatest love
stand empty, full of tears.

A gate of swinging pleasure
now latched and closed up tight
as champagne shoes go floating by
your heart stuffed  full of fright.

I think there are a few that can relate, although you relayed it eloquently.  I really like this one Weave.
