Hey, ya'll!  I'm growing moss here! It sure would be nice if you would take advantage of me before you submit to the Showcase and the Chapbook.

I've posted three poems this morning.  I appreciate your guidance, Witt.

Blues Shoes

My new dresses are red [-- put a dash here.]
power color for interviews.
Make do [try a dash here, too] eschew shoes
in exchange for medicines.

Your need to fill silence
sets my teeth on edge. I wonder
if you know how deaf, how like
the cliche clinging vine you've become.

Frustration suits me like
jeans and t-shirts[try a dash here]
all I seem able to afford[delete comma]
in this climate of human humidity.

Like Garbo [,] I Bogart aloneness,
prefer[add -ing] a private world
created by pen on paper,
a riot of myth.

I like this one. Reminds me of me-- "Bogart aloneness".

Super Woman

I can
bench press
a Buick
on a bad day. Every day.

Without a thought,
just do it.
Because it’s there
and I am the head swoosh.

Caffeine
and fumes,
to answer
your question.

“Praying for you and yours.”
Nice words from your lips
to God’s ears.
Fluffy.

Where’s that steely[-] eyed, muscled
Chaos tamer,[delete comma] to spot for me?
Never around when I spend
my sense of humor and last smile.

Read this one before and liked it.

Cliché Syndrome

Janus[-]faced
disease
leaves me gasping
beneath a pile of clichés.

A pitcher reaches
back
for strike out
stuff.

I reach
down, scrape dregs
from a jar of whatever
passes for stuff these days.

Guilt grinds bones
and I can’t even jangle around
just a little bit
to fake you out.

Another good one. You've been working.

Proud of you
