patriotism and controversy

This poem ("Love of Country") is a deliberate provocation.  Elise says that we are not shy of controversy in the Splashhall.  I am surprised that the poem's implicit attack on the idea of patriotism has not offended someone -- Does being "supportive"  to fellow poets mean that we read the poems critically only for form and not content?
