Windows and Things

Windows and Things

I looked through the window and watched her put blue jeans on
my heart went racing and singing a happy song
When she waved at me I guess I almost died
but when it switched to her nose I broke down and cried
When I tell my buddies I enhance it with a lie

A month went by and I pulled that stunt again
But the shades were drawn and losers never seem to win
Then I noticed a note in the corner of the window frame
It said don't come at me unless you bring your big boy game
When I tell my buddies I enhance it with a lie

A year went by and some whiskers finally creased my face
My shoulders were wider and legs could lay down a good pace
and when I looked over that window was open big wide
the note in the corner said baby come on inside
Now when I tell my buddies I never seem to lie

Weave
a good poet is like a bride
Something old, something new, something borrowed
but mostly you.

I grew up thinking this was teenage America. Too much TV and too many American movies!  :tongue

Hmmmmmm,  even shades cast shadows ... suggest she gets dressed in the bathroom.  Some maturity came with each verse ... next step is not telling the buddies anything  *hehe*
