Hunt for the Poets
« on: February 28, 2019, 02:12 AM »
I had to write a funny one for a contest so wrote this. haha I miss the poets a lot, and wish we could have another poetry party. They were fun, and meeting everyone. I just got my 13th book accepted, and published yesterday. It is called God's Monster. How time flies since the poets last met in 2001.

Poopy Pants

I am a poet, and a poet is me
I might be reading this to you
I have to run because I have to pee
Excuse me.

Oh that was nice, now here I go again
Please do not get offended
To my words some of them are quite absurd
Did I hear you in the back seat say I am a nerd?
When I went to pee, I saw your turd.

Now, let me be to read my poem or mark my words
Oh Gee! What was that behind me now?
What are you doing bring in a cow?
Is that not also a bloody sow?
This is a poetry convention if you may
Not a place for pigs, and cows to stray.

I am done this reading for today
I go to walk away down the isle
Fell right in a cows poop, and goop
Now am I not just the poetry queen in poop?
All of the group of people with their cell phones
They are even making a video song

Definitely and interesting view ... all those distractions made a stink of things, lol .... where did you go in 2001 to meet poets?  I went to Branson, MO in 2001 for a poetry gathering.  It was a blast!!!

We all went to Texas, and also The Ozark Mountains.

Memoirs From Below

I insert these memoirs to you
From death we did part
Yet alive you walk somewhere
I love you with all my heart
Yet, a little of mine did fall apart.

Where do you stride? I must confide
I die, but a little as you twiddle
You are away in deaths slumber bed
When life grasps the soul
It shall go with the toll.

So slow a process, as the wind gathers by
The sky crimson amber red
On a sunset felt light bright night.

Red, orange, pinks of the leaves
Conceives summer is all done
As they dry but a little
To see life’s fiddle all dies by, and by.

On a mornings sunrise in the sky
From the universe it smiles
All the while, all the while!
Watching trials pass by
No cry, no cry asking why
Why must a heart fall on a brick wall?

Mine shall never fall apart
Because of you, I still have a heart
Alive you walk somewhere
From death did we apart
I insert these memoirs to you
You are a shining star.

marsbar, a couple of reads and I believe I'm reading from a perspective of the ghost?
Hope I didn't get that wrong. :)

I believe the spirits that leave their bodies do go on.  They take a part of us with them and leave a part of themselves behind....maybe as a promise of being united again...well said.
