Stuff'n Thanks

Stuff'n Thanks

Take all you want boy
but just fill your plate one time
'cause you're sitting at my table
and eating on my dime.

We all remember last thanksgiving
some folk never got fed
'cause you scarfed up all the turkey
and carved up all the bread.

Although I know it's heaven
To sit and eat your fill,
You couldn't find a better way
To make yourself quite ill.

And so I plead before the day
To heed this warning word:
Limit yourself to just one plate,
Leave the "stuffin" to the bird.

Weave

Something old, something new, something borrowed
but mostly you.

Ah yes, I know a few who jump right in and take more than their share.  My mother used to say that if there was 1 helping left then everybody got enough!  Of course when we were young, we didn't realize that she always took out less than her share to make sure there was enough for her babies.  I followed in her footsteps.  Love your poem Weave!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving  :comfort

In this crazy tech age some things remain the same, little boys eating too much turkey followed by too much stuffing.
It's not an Aussie custom, but I have had much exposure to Thanksgiving through American friends.
Hope Thanksgiving blesses you, Weave!

Ok Girls so yes this year I was guilty of what I wrote about but not to extremes.
I hope you two had a wonderful Thanksgiving, one that was fitting to your
awesome warmth and caring demeanors.
