Stone Deaf

Stone Deaf

Tell that deceased woman I can no longer hear
her as my ears went deaf in childhood when her
piercing screams shut down my hearing like an
avalanche of arrows can blot out the sun.

Convey to her that my feet can no longer walk
that long distance where she selected to lie
near her mother that she failed to acknowledge,
yes her mother that was expected to care for me.

Please imply my eyes cannot seem to focus on her
location amongst all the rows of marble stones.
That my compassion just seemed to have vanished
just as a ripple gets lost on fast moving water.

This is intense, Weave ... and I'm guessing that when the emotions arise and memories abound, it takes a while to put them to rest again.  Even if no compassion, you certainly have passion, and have expressed yourself vividly.

Hello Daisy,

Well this is just something that came into my head not a real life happening
in fact hardly anything I wrote does.  Most of the time I wake up with a few
lines streaming in my head so I sit down and complete it.  Thank you as
always Daisy.

I'm glad it isn't from personal experience.  I do the same thing, a lot of mine are mind generated, too.  Your poem feels real, and I'm sure there are those who can relate to it.

Weave, I was intrigued and not disappointed, as always. A story of many people I think.
