poppy season
« on: April 27, 2018, 09:33 AM »

*

like the petals of a poppy
life is short
a burst of
vibrant flame
soon spent
falling
drifting on the wind
to final rest
fading away
or
a violent end
finishing with a
petal bruising finality
death of roots and stalk.

Love is a quote with no words, stupidity is a quote with many.

Since I was once in the Navy I do not know how many times a Poppy
I have been.  But I really like your poppy poem a lot.

Something old, something new, something borrowed
but mostly you.
