Moving
« on: October 09, 2013, 03:31 AM »

I have sought hugs from trees
disrobed for snow
at times
when their shadows were mine alone.
A dead sparkler in the grass
with the imprint of my foot
burned onto its business end,
the reminder of a first dance,
and crumbled dreams
like fallen leaves that crunch beneath my shoes.
This forest is no longer mine.
There are wounds that I bury here
knowing  a lily will bloom from them
one day.
Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Well hello Arti, we've missed you. It's so nice to see you back.

I enjoyed your write, but I know I'm going to have to read it a few more times for it to sink in.
At first glance it took me on a walk to grandma's house on familiar trails, only to find the house gone leaving nothing more than a ragged foundation and her wisdom.  Of course those are the things we build upon all our lives, foundations and grandmothers.

I guess you're wondering how in the world I got that, huh? Answer, I'm still as strange as I've always been.
I sure hope you are well and thriving, healing as well as burying wounds.
If this write is a window into some hidden pain, please know we care.
Catch us up on what you've been up to when you get a chance.
Stop looking at the light. Instead, look at what is being illuminated by the light.

Earl,

I'm floating, still. It is good to be welcomed back with warm hugs.
Life has been a rollercoaster since last I was here. Somewhere in between I met The One, got engaged, organized a wedding half a world away and got married, completed residency, moved across a state line or two with The One, had a job then it fell off the table, found another one, dealt with loads of drama and tears and other things that will eventually turn into words when I'm ready to acknowledge they happened.
Meanwhile, the cryptic ones are starting to creep back.
Mostly, I'm glad that despite it all, I have no regrets, and life is almost good.

I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.
