    This is marvelous!

i.

Sloppy blue track jacket
nylon netting lining the pockets

ii.

we gather dandelions in a pewter pail
streams of sand and gravel. She plants
three crumpled handfuls of stalks,
breathing life through clay,
hunched over like a surgeon.

iii.

in the crack between porch and shrub
assorted grimy weeds, pebbled
chunks of sidewalk stone, intricate
arrangements of pinecones,
void space.

little girl's zen garden

iv.

bedtime, girls asleep, half-heartedly shuffling through floor's
sullen clutter. upend jacket
flowers spill out.

(but mostly rocks and sand)

v.

carpet of dandelion
shooting down
to explore w shallow fingers
the history of dirt,
the etymology of gravel,
and all the individual parts of sand

drawing dull mineral granules up
to radiate in its dust-golden brain

the image(s) i get from this nice piece of work, would be equal to a Norman Rockwell painting. the only thing missing is the dandelion wine.

dandelions are so glorious and troublesome.

I love your poem.

Read the Dandelion Seed by Dawn Publications to your daughter.

'tis a wonderful book!
