standing beneath the darkling sky
I enlarged

yet small
I felt huge in its circumference

sky-lighted
standing tall

oh beam me up, Scotty
heavenly God calls.

"I stood unwound beneath the skies
And clouds unbound by laws
The cryin' rain like a trumpet sang
And asked for no applause" Bob Dylan

April 16

I'm folded up
puzzled
crumpled like you had me
in your back pocket
scribbled on
destroyed beyond repair

at least you cared enough
to write in me

am I completed
or did you skip the hard parts

April 17th

Is there an end to things?
Can you feel it? Is that even allowed?
Rounded and smooth or jagged,
as though broken off roughly, or in anger?
Maybe it’s just a butt, trodden on
outside some seedy joint from which I am excluded?

I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.

April 17

leave the potholed road
find old trailers
fill with your bad memories
fence them in
move on to Capricorn
search for Tirzah
inherit the land
the herbs, the vines
from this point
you will find the delight
where the flowers grow

seedy joints-
I tell my girls don't go to those places
they're trouble waiting to snare the unprepared
drunks and heart breakers line the bars looking for
young girls who don't know the difference between
until they've been mistreated and learned their lessons
of course - some little girls don't ever learn.

I’m hoping my muse doesn’t take a notion to go prancing off to Ueno Park for the annual cherry viewing. At least not until the end of the month. I’ve been diligent in my attempts to brew her a batch of homemade sake using cherry blossoms I procured from D. C. Perhaps that will keep her wanderlust at bay for a couple of weeks yet.

April 18th

camel’s shadow
trudging North, South, East, West
‘cross the edges of wind-blown dunes -
the setting moon illuminates a dewdrop.

The Babylonian Talmud applies the aphorism to unthinkable thoughts. To explain that dreams reveal the thoughts of a man's heart, a product of reason rather than the absence of it, the rabbis say:

They do not show a man a palm tree of gold, nor a camel passing through the eye of a needle.

And The Lord spake: Open for me a doorway no wider than a needle’s eye and I shall reveal to you the Way through which may enter tents and camels. ~ Midrash on The Song of Songs demonstrating God’s willingness and ability to accomplish salvation.
I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.

lamplight's warm glow
shining through the lace curtains
always welcome

April 18

whizzing circles around my head
the horsefly won't go away
I am not your merry-go-round
waving slapping swatting
it still pesters
annoys
dizzy from fighting
I just sit

still

it leaves to vex another

lesson learned
ignoring is bliss
