A Poem A Day
April 9th

during an evening stroll
i passed a ramshackle house
clad in weather-worn grey.
a notice on the door:
red, CONDEMNED
i stopped to smell the roses anyway.

Love that red condemned!

Clever!

April 9

It's so easy to make someone's day
A smile, a wave, a simple, "Hey!"
No matter what we say or do
We can't get folks to say, "Thank you."

Monday 9th

each poem
a profusion of life's color
showing daily

------

love this idea.   :coffee

Me, too. It acts like a journal of sorts.

This got lost on page 1, so I bumped it.

April 10th

these ten thousand blooms!
oh, indivisible me
if only i could
separate reality -
experience each alone.
I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.

Tuesday 10th

the essence of your popinjay theories
sold you all out to the money - greedy bastards
you've become so indispensable
dispensing vagaries that hit and miss
leaving us to forage around in the past
for the answers to itchy questions
it's getting harder to find someone
who does remember.

April 10

double frustrations
damned if I do
damned if I don't
I feel like
an ant squashed
under the squishy sole
of garden clogs
mosquito larvae squiggling
in a bucket of rain water
dumped to die  in the spring sun
a wasp laying her eggs
in a secret hideaway
malathioned to death

A poem a day

Possibilities infinite
Oh wonderful ideals
Experimental creative
Marv U lous

A poet does as a poet is

Daisies I have for you
And big snugly hug
Your words turn me on

April 11

Why so much murder?
Why the bloodshed and bleeding?
Visceral gut-letting?
Spittle on the lips?
When I see
a stoic iris
a lacy azalea
a fragile columbine ―
any spring-bloomer

I stop

think

isn't this a beautiful world.

April 11th

following
plum blossom’s fragrance,
a weary monk
at the foot of the mountain -
stubs his toe on a pebble.
I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.

April 11th

I haven't yet worked out how to solicit the sun
plead my cause, have my way. Lately all the
sunbeams seem to be taken.

Peering in from a dark corner completely out of place. Love the poems and the idea. Makes me have a kinda' jello jiggly day.
Stop looking at the light. Instead, look at what is being illuminated by the light.

April 12th

The sun is ever full and bright, The pale moon waneth night by night. Why should this be?
My heart that once was full of light Is but a dying moon to-night.
But when I dream of thee apart, I would the dawn might lift my heart, O sun, to thee.
I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not for our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.
