Distinction
« on: August 18, 2011, 04:06 PM »
He gave me a scarf
the color of white pillows
a smile that makes you think of peppermint
and lavender left in the shadows.
I never made a distinction
between the blood orange slices
he'd leave on the countertop

or the maps curled by the side of the sofa
when he left.

I still see him now and then, with eyelids
closed, as the tops of the trees
meet a grove of wild persimmons.

For me, that's the entire experience. I really liked this piece.
Enough so, I fell off the wagon and jumped right back into this cyber poetry addiction.
You have a typo: amd should be and. I think or should be and, but I'm not the best when it comes to grammar.

Anel, I look forward to reading more from you. Intrigued.

Take care of yourself,

PSM

Thank you for commenting! And I like the concise way you see this. I know all about
wagons, I espeically poetry wagon and mine's been broken down a few times itself.
Hope to read something of yours.

Hey Anel,

Here's a sample of what I have done in the past:

If I may steal from Prince, the artist formerly known as that, I am Marsupial Man. Or, I was.

This is an amazing site. I have been supported, poked, and prodded into whatever I am now.

Take care,

Paul

Paul! Y

Yes, I know you. Through a series of rather horrific events, I lost most of my accounts,
my passwords and almost my love for writing. But I still have most of my sanity.
I posted here as Kay way back when. Hopefully,  I can do some more writting.
Curious as to why you had to also open a new account as well, but hey, you know, none of my business.
So do write more. I'd love to read more ok? and be well.  :hearts

anel - love the poem, the imagery and the emotion it inspires.

Kay? This Kay by any chance http://www.tinroofalleypoets.org/poetry_boards/index.php/topic,16100.0.html?

Welcome home Kay, I've been wondering where you were, just recently even.  *party* So good to be reading you again.
And I love that poem too. You, Paul and I saw Trout had commented...wonderful!

Anel - Kay :)

This is such a romantic piece full of bitterweet..... very much like it.

I remember Paul, too.  I somehow was locked out for a long time, gave up, and then decided to try to find everyone again.  I miss a lot of people who no longer post.  I feel maybe they lost their way, too.... maybe some more will come back.

Good to see/read you.  Not much writing here for now... maybe in time.
