Remains

Remains

Washed up on the beach
is a singed black flower
on blue faded bed spring.
Another corner,
white and finger scorched
are all I know of these two
I posit as lovers.
His is from a cheap motel
where she ignored
the lack of hot water
and the grimy walls
for the taste
of his skin
glistening with the day's work
under Chilean sun.

Hers is fit for a virgin nun.
Looking out on rolling spray
gave these two leisure
for the slow languorous
wrapping of arms and legs
into sea shell coils
and configurations.
Her mouth found upside down
its quarry rigid,
standing alone unresisting.

Hands tumbled in cascades
down breasts, sides,
downy hair
at the entrance
to leafy edged sheath.

Both of them entangled,
exhausted
in sweaty lounging sprawl.

Both corners on peeling cardboard
are thin as the knowledge provided,
fragile as the washed up affair
the scorched remains testify to
in the receding flames of campfire.

Very earthy poetry, mojo. Your imagery graphic in its subtleties.   :sunny

Halo - Sorry, wires got crossed on that first reply, don't know exactly what happened. But, thank you for your kind words on the poem.  I meant to say that every time I see that image of yours I think of Dylan's song "Baby Stop Crying" from his Street Legal album. If you haven't heard it, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. I'd send you a link but I don't know how. Duh.
Merry Christmas, Cheers, Richard

mojo, I can't believe I don't know that song. I did myself a favor, listened and instantly liked. Thanks for suggesting
I listen to it. I posted the song in What's on your playlist?, cos it's now on my playlist.

If you want to post a particular youtube vid, right click the URL (http://) copy it, paste it straight on the page in a reply,
center it then post it...simple as that.

For posting any other kind of link, again right click the URL (http://) then open the hyperlink icon in replies,
(the world with the page beside it)

http:// <------- stick the URL (http://) between the two middle brackets,  post and viola... :)

hope I was of some help.
