Magnetic Poetry
« on: June 05, 2010, 07:53 AM »
These poems were written using a magnetic poetry board.  Hope you enjoy them.

unnamed poem

Speak softly if fire dances
wildly with your heart
the feverish rhythm melting
a blind prisoner of the night
naked in darkness embracing
morning desire as the blaze
celebrates your lingering kiss
and your warm voice
devours my senses.

Porcelain Pictures

The fever lingers
yesterday's desire for poetry
brings fire to the ocean
ferocious animals laugh
and wild nights we celebrate
a woman haunted, broken
a prisoner of the clouds
exploring a secret
weary from flowery words
rhythm poisoned by velvety smoke
yet she was born, and will die
devouring porcelain pictures of life.

Love's Rhythm

Entwined hearts desire
sunlight's bouquet lingers -
candles burn, passion tantalizes
and my body is drenched
with fantasy whispers,
cherished embraces,
soft touches,
love's rhythm.

Rhapsody

A dance of devotion -
promises overwhelming.
Skin, wild and feverish,
a river of emotions -
overflowing with a song,
lifting them to the sun.
Firey spirits embraced,
infinite is the gift
joined by mutual trust.
Each whisper a pleasure,
kisses to remember,
and the music of love
fills their night.
By morning, one heart
is shared by two.

Poetic Freedom

Hazy yesterdays nested within
cunning lines, taking a stand before
the poet to love every verse.
A rose feeds the garden
beyond the death of
unearthed clusters.
Statues posed by a bard
plant tomorrow's whitest flowers.
Writing wild like the evening -
morning's muse chases
the robins and orioles to
a flight of poetic freedom.

Weak Moments

always there
raw heat
a sea of moments
and shadows from the moon
softening the screams
weakening the symphony
of suppressed moans
and dreams

daisy, these are all fabulous, fun pieces. The first two you posted in 2010...how did I ever not see them.
Magnetic poetry is a cool way of being inspired from sources other than ourselves.

thanks Halo!  I had fun writing those - they are a little 'out of the box' from my regular style.  I've been searching for a good magnetic poetry board that we can link to, or a desktop version (that is safe) to download.  They can help when your muse is taking a break, or when you just want the challenge of moving things around to see what forms from it.  There are so many out there - some are ok, not enough words -- others have so many words you can't move them around the screen -- others just don't seem to load well.  I want to make "magnetic poetry" one of our challenge boards.  I'm still looking for the right one to use.

Reality

I cried and chanted a thousand whispers
deliriously moaning in tongues
pounding the raw shadows of a dream
until the dream turned into reality.

I arose when I heard your screams
rushing to your side, barefoot and cold,
only to find your skin in flames, melting
from the touch, of another woman.

I cried and chanted a thousand slurs
obscenities not covered in peaches and honey
and I threw myself to the mercy of no one
while she withdrew her advances and ran.

I arose in front of you, an inch from the breath
of the man who betrayed a thousand whispers
'in sickness and in health, till death do us part'
betrayed in my dreams, in reality ... death.
