I watch his quick pulse slow,
the little chest quail under the weight
of life and breath. He struggles
to live,
not remembering, not realizing
he has nothing inside his chest
but a heart. In my lap
he lies, his mother has wept and gone.
He purples.
He quivers.
I shudder. He cries.
I weep.
He dies.

A burnt offering to explain why I haven't been here. Or anywhere else. I got my heart broken again, and I am still deep inside my shell. But the words haven't stopped, and they are healing. So I write alone in the middle of the night, and know that in the morning, I will wend my way back to where I am needed more than I realize, and find healing there.
Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Oh, this is heart-breaking. I can understand how hard it must be for you. I don't know how doctors can take all this pain, but saving lives and healing people has to make up for the losses somehow.

Lots of hugs, Arti!!!! You know what, I think God made you able.
Filled you with love, compassion, understanding and a giant sized heart. And that doesn't even cover the learning and practicing what you learn. You know how to help the healing process with your writing too.

It's a New Year, Arti...be blessed in it.

Witt, Lady S, Halo, Carrie:

Thank you so much for your kind words.
I have lines on scraps of paper, backs of index cards, margins of textbooks. But for the first time since the 30:30 in November, I am writing straight from the gut.
Your words and encouragement mean much, and are healing too.

Hugs,
Arti.
