A Walk
« on: March 07, 2008, 09:07 PM »
*********
To walk away from life
 is a golden opportunity.
Escaping wars and strife
with all its wicked misery.
But once to have a chance
to find that sense of peace.
Make no backward glance
down this path of ease.
Who dares to follow me
from here to eternity?

Very good. A clever use of "from here to eternity." Ordinarily I wouldn't go for using such a well-known phrase, but this definitely fits the mood and theme.

We will all, one day, follow you.  Although, few will do so with such grace.

I have been reading all of your work of late, and, am warmed by your magnificent job in expressing these feelings.
Allen

An action promulgated out of desperation will inevitably end in tragedy; for as its anagram so aptly foretells:  A rope ends it.

*Bows humbly before the young knight and the grand Director, rivulets of moist hope trail down ashen cheeks, to fall.  Alighting, each droplet creates a crystalline pointe that reflects sunlight upward to illumine the way of those following this uncharted path.

Alwys and ever, they honour the olde fool's periphrastic discourse.

beautiful, the great goddess will be there with open arms. Unfortunately we all have to walk that path alone but at the end our energies will mingle once more.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul

The peace path is definitely the one I'm looking for.  What a joy it will be to float on wings like the angels, and shed every trial and shame.

Any other time I would consider your last line way to cliche'....but not in this case and not with your writing....you have made the phrase your own...and created a very visual imagine of your feeling....excellent!!!
