Here is a new piece of artwork that might conjure some creative writes.

Sailing on the ocean calm
the sun setting just behind
everything at peace
but traveling further east
you will meet a deadly beast.

The path you travelled ends.
The current carries you to a new place.
In the storm as it rages
The world as you know it stops,
the certainty of your heart drops.

You cross your fingers and toes
with hope at the water's fall
wishing you knew where you were going
Just steering the masts of your ship,
and praying it doesn't tip.

the day
            the sun
                         died

                                        the sea cracked
                   and burned
   like lava

                          fleeing in our fair ships
  too late
                  we failed
                                   to foresee
                                                                this end

Bravo! Bravo! I love it! I must send this off to my friend who loves the sailing vessels. He will really like this. I hope you don't mind sharing.

If you expand that picture, it's really very cool ........

Life continues, it follows the norm
yet static is building, creating a storm.
Icy divisions filling the air,
life carries on without a care.

Airwaves flow freely, bouncing off walls,
taken for granted, invisible to all.
Radios blaring, cars on the street
life carries on, never missing a beat.

Wonderful Daisy - I see an hourglass, with the seeds of time, slowly moving through.  Does anyone else see this?

The pressure
of this life
crushes me
like two walls.

It relentlessly
pounds the brain
throbbing behind
my eyeballs.

No matter
what the effort made
to find some
unknown release.

It closes in tighter
and tighter
upon me without
any surcease.

Chomh sean leis an cheo agus níos sine faoi dhó.

Wow! You guys blew my socks off! No one has been participating much in here, so I wasn't expecting this this morning.
If anyone has a picture that they would like to post here, feel free to do so.

Witt:
Sorry for responding so late.  I lost this board, and I've been wondering what happened to it.  Could I please give this one a try, even at this late date?

A fountain standing tall,
with my wishes just underneath.
Rising up into the space of slightly unseen.
But, the fog will one day clear,
And I will surely understand
what having hope can really mean.

(this is in response to Witt's December 11 pic).  Sorry I didn't the new pic, but I'm glad this section is being revived.  I guess I can post a 2nd one here tonight.  Hope nobody minds.

A grandstand of awaiting houses
standing in line
to hear the strings sweet songs
while sitting on the hillside.

Windows are eyes wide awake,
looking alive
intent to miss nothing
like a husband watching his bride.

Alone I stand before the masses
on a stage,
like a bug under a microscope
their judgement of me preconceived
by the way I stand unhindered
from concepts of whats acceptable

But I have no fear
I will let my voice be heard
I will carry on to the beat of my own music
Without  a care to their stares
or their approval
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul
William Henley
